About us

 As ‘Tischlerschuppen’, we are a small company that specialises in the manufacture and sale of wooden building blocks, wooden cubes, wooden balls and finishing by laser engraving and printing. The name is inspired by the stories of ‘Emil of Lönneberga’ and ‘Pettersson and Findus’ - where the ‘carpenter's shed’ is a special place where all kinds of interesting things are created: Not ‘on the assembly line’ in a factory, but with a lot of dedication, manual labour and skill. We continue this ‘spirit’ in our company and combine enthusiasm for wood as a raw material with professional production, resulting in ‘beautiful’ products of the highest quality.

The company was founded more than 20 years ago in the Rhineland by the Wirges family. Since 2025, the company has been run by Gerhard Bumes. We now produce at our site in Lower Bavaria with a small team and ship from there to the whole of Europe.

It is important to us to produce and sell sustainable products. This starts with the natural raw material wood. We primarily process beech wood. This is produced in sustainable forestry and can be used untreated due to its surface quality. In our production process, we pay attention to fair working and manufacturing conditions and our products are ‘Made in Germany’. Because: Our building blocks are made for children, not by children!
